Terms of use
The rules that apply when you use InvestPilot, whether you pay or not.
1. Scope
These terms govern access to and use of the InvestPilot website and application. They apply to every user, including those on the free plan. Creating an account constitutes acceptance of them.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, our Terms of sale apply in addition.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. InvestPilot is not intended for minors.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity carried out under your account. One account corresponds to one person. You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. What the service does
InvestPilot produces four types of analysis:
- InvestScore™ — a score for a listing, per buying strategy.
- Financial capacity — a model of your borrowing capacity and purchase envelope, based on the figures you declare.
- Cross-analysis — a report combining the two.
- Estimate — a valuation of a property, for sale or for rent, based on its location and the characteristics you enter, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, aspect, balcony or cellar. You may enter an exact address or an approximate one.
Generating a report consumes credits. The credits included, how they reset and the cost of each report are set out in your plan and in the billing section of the application.
5. InvestPilot does not provide advice
InvestPilot is an information and simulation tool. It does not constitute investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or mortgage brokerage. It issues no personalised recommendation within the meaning of financial services regulation.
Its outputs are calculations performed on figures you provide and on market data obtained from third parties. They do not take account of your full personal circumstances and are not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Before committing to a purchase, a loan or a tax position, you should consult a qualified professional, such as a bank, a notary, a tax adviser or a lawyer.
A score is not a promise, and a projection is not a guarantee. Markets, interest rates and applicable rules change.
6. Data sources
Listing and market data is obtained from third-party providers and from public sources. We carry out the checks we reasonably can, but we do not warrant that every figure is exact, current or complete.
We make no claim to list every property on the market. Coverage is partial by nature and varies by area.
Where a figure is uncertain, the report states that it is uncertain.
7. Prohibited use
You may not:
- scrape, crawl or extract our data by automated means;
- resell, redistribute or make the service available to third parties, other than by sharing a report you generated;
- reverse-engineer the scoring methodology;
- share an account, or use a single account for an organisation;
- use the service unlawfully, or in a manner that degrades it for other users.
Breach of this section may result in suspension of the account, without refund of credits already consumed.
8. Your reports
Reports you generate belong to you. You may keep them, print them, and provide them to your bank, your adviser, your notary, your co-borrower or any third party of your choosing.
The report templates, the methodology and the InvestScore™ remain our property.
9. Availability
We seek to keep the service operational but do not warrant uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, incidents and third-party failures may occur. Where a report fails for a technical reason attributable to us, the credits consumed are returned to you.
10. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will state the reason unless prevented by law.
11. Liability
We are liable for damage caused by our failure to perform our obligations. We are not liable for decisions you take on the basis of an analysis, for the accuracy of third-party data, or for indirect loss such as a missed opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the mandatory rights conferred on consumers.
12. Amendments
We may amend these terms. Where an amendment materially affects your rights, we will notify you before it takes effect, and you may close your account if you do not accept it.
13. Governing law and disputes
See the corresponding section of the Terms of sale. Whatever law is designated, a consumer resident in the European Union retains the mandatory protections of their country of residence and may bring proceedings before the courts of their domicile.
